Warning: This on-line calculator is not a substitute for the professional advice and assistance that only a licensed, practicing attorney can provide. We strongly urge you to contact an attorney of your choosing because the proper calculation of child support is extremely important. There are critical factors that this on-line program does not take into account when calculating child support. The results provided by this program are mere estimates.

If you do not understand any terms, such as Qualified Additional Dependents, leave it default. Do not make an entry.

Some basic rules: the cost of health insurance means the child"s share. So if a family plan costs $200 per month and a single plan costs $100 per month, you would enter $100 in the program. The amount allowed is the difference between what it costs for a family plan and what it costs for single coverage. If health insurance is free, leave the entry blank. Child support; spousal support and medical support by prior order are a deduction allowed for the amounts actually paid. If you are not paying, do not make an entry. If your situation will involve split custody or shared, 50-50 custody, this program will not perform those calculations. See your family law attorney.
